    本季中史塔克家族的状况依然不太妙，奈德·史塔克曾经担任国王的好友“手”受到了不听话的小王子杰夫里·拜拉席恩的无理重创，身陷囹圄。而更让人揪心的是奈德战死的新闻引起了史塔克家族的动荡，很多人在争夺权力。史塔克家族中，奈德的妻子卡特琳娜更是不顾一切地要保住自己的家族财产和荣誉。

    同时，时值罗伯·史塔克成为北境之王，他的婚事急需解决，但却因为卡特琳娜表态而有所波动。此时有一个年轻的冒险家将会闯入他的视野中。而此时龙母在她逐渐茁壮成长中，继续挑战着在异国他乡的命运。她通过联姻保持自己的财产，好多人在觊觎她的财产局面下，她还必须与利益作斗争。

    同时，游侠们在墓地与游魂的战斗中谋生。而随着战斗的不断升级，每一名角色都将面临着更大的威胁与危险，也因此更为复杂残酷的人际关系更是铺展开来。

    而最大的敌人——白色行者的行踪也越来越近，人们将会面临极大的威胁。而本季故事的结尾，一场海外的战事已经爆发，善与恶之间的斗争将越来越激烈。

    本季的故事更加庞大、更加激烈，让观众能够更加深入地了解维斯特洛大陆，也让演员们进一步发挥出他们的演技。总之，这一季是《权力的堡垒》中难以忘怀的一季。
