    明朝中后期，慈湖县成桴书院的一群少年正为了科举考试忙的不亦乐乎。书院“非典型”学生陆展联合富家公子哥沈焕、学霸周茂才当众戳穿徒有其表的董夫子，迫使其辞职，不料却迎来了“非典型”夫子陈柬。陆展持续与夫子对抗，却在陈夫子非常规的教育下逐渐开蒙，与陈夫子及同窗结下情谊。成桴书院被查封，陆展带领一众学子闯入大儒汇集的东湖大会，师生合力重开书院，但签订了“书院十人中三个秀才“的生死状。学子们自此各出奇招，开始曲折壮丽的登科路。县试过后，还没等保住书院的少年们举杯欢庆，命运的打击便接连而至，成桴科举天团飘零四散，。自此，少年们怀揣各自的抱负走上了不同的人生道路，承担起家国与时代的重任。
