　　　　令狐冲、林平之、岳灵珊三人的关系十分尴尬，心里都不是滋味……签于嵩山派的屡次攻击，而魔教也在捕捉机会待发，岳不群权衡再三，决定远离洛阳，前往福建武夷山，一切尽在不言之中。令狐冲前来向绿竹婆道别，无意中透露口音，令狐冲欲目睹绿竹婆的音容笑貌，被拒绝，任盈盈弹奏一曲《笑傲江湖》相送，泪水禁不住地汨汨流下。次日，绿竹婆派人送来“清心普善咒”，自己在亭中弹唱“有所思”，令狐冲在陶醉中感伤，船帆渐去渐远……　　开封城中，在宁中则的劝导下，岳不群夫妇去找以“医一人，杀一人”著称的“杀人名医”平一指，桃谷六仙也在此，平一指正在给桃花仙治伤。岳不群提起替令狐冲疗伤之事，平一指根本就不予理睬。　　华山众人都下船了，令狐冲一人孤坐在船上，却有人奉命送来美酒和礼物，令狐冲不知所以。一个叫祖千秋的人和令狐冲坐论酒道，替他疗伤，而平一指也打破规矩，不请自到，来给他疗伤，但是这位神医也是无能为力，赠送“镇心理气丸”，助令狐冲抑制病情，却不肯告知是受谁之托。刚喝完酒的令狐冲莫明其妙地给一个老头子抓去了，原来祖千秋送来的酒中有老头子炼制的“续命八丸”，是用来救他女儿的性命的，老头子掠来令狐冲，要用他的血替她女儿治病。明晃晃的尖刀在令狐冲面前挥舞，令狐冲安然等待着死亡，这时，响起了“咣当”的推门声……
